This project has been developed by Etnoteam S.p.A. Labs (Milano - Italy) as an university degree project.
The project consists in Java libraries and applications for communication with an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)
reader developed on Linux.
In the project are included:
1. the JAR libraries for communication with the RFID reader (including a crc-ccitt algorithm);
2. a command line application;
3. a Java applet.
The RFID transponders are, in some ways, the evolution of the bar codes, and they are based upon radio frequency technology.
The application, and the java applet, is able to send commands to an RFID reader connected via serial port to the computer,
and to read the RFID reader response.
The application have been tested on Linux Suse 8.1 with MozillaFirebird as the web browser.
